About this event

M G Academy has added Under 7 and Under 8 squads to its 2026/27 Sydney Premier League program, and both now appear on its entry form. Trials for these two age groups are on the weekend of 15–16 August 2026 — a week after the trials for its older squads. The academy has said only that U7 and U8 trials will be "next weekend". It has not published which day, what time, or which ground. Confirm all three on its Facebook page before you travel. The SPL is an independent summer competition that sits outside the Football NSW pathway, with the season starting in October. If your child is selected, a $100 deposit is due within three days; academy training is then $5 per session, with uniforms included. Register through the academy's online trial form before attending.

Who it suits

Families in the Macarthur area with a U7 or U8 player, who want competitive summer football and are comfortable with a paid program outside the Football NSW system. At this age the SPL is a big step up from MiniRoos, so it suits a child who is already keen rather than one being pushed.

Before you register

  • The day is NOT confirmed — the academy said only "next weekend", which is 15–16 August. Check its Facebook page for the day, time and ground before travelling.
  • This is the U7/U8 wave only. The U9 and older squads trialled the weekend before, on Sunday 9 August.
  • The ground has not been published either, beyond the Ambarvale area used for the earlier trials. Ambarvale has more than one field.
  • This academy has changed or extended its trial arrangements more than once, publishes nothing on a website, and its entry form carries no dates — its Facebook page is the only reliable source.
  • U7 and U8 were added to the program on 7 August, so these are brand-new squads. Ask how many players are being taken and whether the age groups will definitely run.
  • If selected, a $100 deposit is due within three days. Academy training is then $5 per session, with uniforms included.
  • Register through the online form before attending.
