Hurstville Zagreb FC (also known as Hurstville ZFC) competes in Football NSW Youth League 3. Worth knowing before you plan around it: the club says it does not hold open trials — apart from the U13s, selection is by invitation, and the way in is to submit an expression of interest so the head coach of that age group can get in touch. Its published EOI page still refers to the 2024 season, so the 2027 intake was not confirmed at the time of checking. Email info@hurstvillezfc.com to ask about the current cycle.

Hills United FC fields a Girls Youth League 2 side across U14, U15 and U16 — GYL 2 is the second tier of girls football in NSW and does not run a U18 division. The club routed interested players to its single "Player EOI - 2027 Season" form, which closed on 31 July 2026, 1:14pm. Worth confirming with the club that GYL was covered by that form rather than handled separately — its public EOI listing itemises the Mixed JDL, Girls JDL and Boys Youth League squads by name and groups the remaining programs together without naming them.

For boys in U10 (born 2017), U11 (2016) and U12 (2015) who are already in JDL or development squads at a local association or NPL club. Every place is by application and pre-selection by Sydney FC, so submitting the form does not guarantee a trial. The 2025/26 intake is full. Girls of a similar age have a parallel Female Training Program (U11–U13) that uses the same EOI form.

Western Sydney

The Elite Pre-Academy is invitation-only for players identified inside the open-registration Pre-Academy program — there is no public EOI or trial for the elite tier.

Macarthur

Trials: Rolling EOI — the club reviews submissions as they arrive and contacts players it wants to see at a trial. No published trial dates.

Bulls FC Academy runs a standing expression-of-interest form covering boys, women and girls (and coaches). It is a rolling process: the club says it monitors submissions frequently and will make contact if it wants more information or wants to invite a player to a trial, and that only successful applicants are contacted. Heads-up before you click: the EOI page still headlines the 2025 NPL season, so the copy is out of date even though the form is live — worth confirming the intake season with the club before you rely on it.

Central Coast

Trials: No trial dates have been published. Entry is by expression of interest — one form for Youth NPL, and one covering both Girls and Mixed JDL.

Entry to the Mariners academy for 2026/27 is by open expression of interest rather than invitation. The academy opportunities page carries two player EOIs: Youth NPL, covering boys and girls, and JDL, whose single form covers both Girls JDL and Mixed JDL. No trial dates, venue, fee or closing date has been published, and the club has previously noted it may not trial age groups whose squads are already full.

Trials: Trials run throughout October and early November 2026. The academy publishes the per-age-group dates, times and venues on its social slides only, so check those before planning. You must submit the 2027 EOI first — trials are by invitation after ECSA reviews the EOIs.

For boys and girls aged 7 to 13 on the Central Coast. Squads play the IFA NSW League, with national tournaments, video analysis and individual player development plans under ECSA's new 2027 Academy Development Framework. You do not have to give up playing for your local club to join. ⚠ An EOI is an application, not a booking: the academy says invitations to trial are sent to selected players after it reviews the EOIs, and submitting one does not guarantee a place at trials. The 2027 EOI is the link in the academy's Instagram bio — it is not published on its website.

Trials: The academy's free open trials for its 2026 summer squads ran on Saturday 22 and Saturday 29 August 2026 at the Moore Park synthetic pitches. Both dates have passed.

EDGE selects summer competition squads for players born 2013-2020 (U6-U13), trialling in two age bands — born 2017-2020 at 4pm and born 2013-2016 at 5pm. Squads play in summer competitions across Sydney. Strong performers may also be identified for the academy's EDGE Apex program. Contact the academy directly about places, since the advertised trials have been held.

Trials: Pre-academy trials for Under 6, Under 7 and Under 8 are open for expressions of interest. No date is published and the academy says a new location is coming soon.

Elle Football Academy's pre-academy program is aimed at young players taking their first structured steps — the academy describes it as building skills, confidence and a basic understanding of the game. Register interest through the academy's portal; the venue had not been announced when we checked.

An alternate development pathway for U12–U18 players who miss out on, or aren't retained in, the NPL (National Premier Leagues) system. Selected players train year-round and compete in winter club competitions, the NSW State Cup and national tournaments in Queensland and Victoria, with annual camps in Germany and post-HSC opportunities in Ireland and Germany.

Football South Coast is setting up the FSC Academy for the 2027 season and has opened a registration form. Read this before you fill it in: the association says registering is not part of the trial or selection process — it only puts you on the list to be kept informed. It will not put your child in the trial pool. Age groups and which genders the Academy covers have not been published yet, and neither have trial dates or fees.

The program runs from October 2026 to September 2027, and players selected are eligible to represent Hunter Valley Football at the 2027 Community State Youth Championships.
